What can I help with?

From gaps in the foundations to exam preparation, and for those who are not quite sure where to start.

Gaps in the foundations

Something was lost along the way, a topic, a method, a school year. We find it and build it back up so that everything else holds together better.

Help with school right now

Homework, going through new material and preparing for tests. Practical support tailored to what is happening this week.

Exams and external exams

Focused preparation with a plan, clear priorities and practice on the problem types that actually come up. Whether it is a test in two weeks or an external exam in spring.

Something feels off, but what?

Sometimes it is hard to put your finger on exactly what the problem is. That is completely normal. Start with a free 30 min session and we will figure it out together.

How we work

Practical and predictable. Here is what a typical session looks like.

1

Overview

What did we work on last time? What has stuck, what needs more time? We plan the session together.

2

Explanation

We go through one topic step by step, with examples tailored to you.

3

Practice

You try yourself with support. We correct and adjust along the way.

4

Next steps

You leave the session with a concrete plan. Progress continues until next time.

About me

I have been working with tutoring and academic support since 2017. With a background in engineering (computer science) and science subjects, I focus on calm and structured teaching where understanding comes before speed.

Many of the students I work with are capable, but have developed gaps along the way, become unsure of themselves, or never had the space to ask questions. In my teaching I focus on clear explanations, a calm pace and a safe collaboration, so that the student genuinely understands the material.

My experience is that progress comes when the student feels mastery and control, not when the pace is pushed. I am therefore well suited to students who want to build understanding step by step, and to parents who want a reliable and trustworthy teacher to work with.

FAQ

The most common questions before you book.

What is your teaching method?

We find the gap in the foundations first. From there we work systematically towards a concrete goal.

We start by mapping out where the student lost the thread and what is causing problems further along. Then we work in parallel with what is happening at school, so the student keeps up in both places at once. We set a goal early on, whether that is a test, exam, external exam or simply becoming more confident, and work towards it step by step. Maths should make sense, not just sit as memorised technique.

Who is this for?

Students who have fallen behind at some point and cannot catch up on their own.

That is exactly where I have the most experience and the best results. Many of the students I work with are actually capable, but have encountered a pace or way of explaining things that did not work for them. Some have lost confidence in maths over time. What we do is find what went wrong and build from there, calmly and systematically.

What progress can I expect?

It varies from student to student and depends a lot on starting point, goal and time available.

What we always do is set a concrete goal at the start and check regularly whether we are on track. Sometimes we can adjust the goal upward, other times we need to be honest that we need more time or a different focus than we thought. Progress comes when the student understands, not just memorises, and that is what we work towards every session.

What does a typical session look like?

Recap, new material, practice and a plan for next time. Tailored to you every session.

We start with a quick review of last time and what we want to cover today. New material is built up step by step, often with small tricks and new angles to make it click, and we test with examples first together and then alone. Towards the end we set a concrete plan for next time. The approach varies by level and goal, but the structure is always the same.

It happens, and that is completely fine. If something is not working as it should I will bring it up directly, usually with the student first to see if we can adjust the approach. I also encourage openness the other way. Please say something straight away if anything feels off or is not landing. No one benefits from continuing something that is not adding value, and it should never be difficult to stop or take a break.

Hours in a package are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. Unused hours are non-refundable. If you need a break, we will sort it out.

Hours can be transferred to a sibling or someone else in the same household. Get in touch and we will figure it out together.

The first half hour is free and non-binding. We can take it as a short standalone online chat, or as the first 30 minutes of a full session. In the latter case the remaining time is charged as normal. No obligation to continue afterwards.

We use Vipps. Individual sessions are paid after each completed session. Packages are paid either upfront or after the first completed session in the package.

Add-ons for travel, evenings or weekends also apply on packages, but are accumulated and settled together when the package is used up, we take a break, or the arrangement ends. If you prefer to settle as you go, we agree on that at the start.

Yes, but please give as much notice as possible. If you cancel less than 48 hours before, 50 % of both the session and any add-ons will be charged. Less than 24 hours and the full amount applies. In exceptional circumstances we can always work something out.

I teach primarily on weekdays between 14.00 and 18.00. Sessions outside these hours can be arranged, see add-on rates under pricing.

You do not need anything special. A computer or tablet with a microphone is fine. We use whichever video tool works best for you, often Teams. I share my screen and use a digital whiteboard during sessions.

Then we look together at what can be adjusted, whether that is frequency, the length of sessions or the approach. The goal is always for the setup to work for that particular student.
